As Esri® customers plan their migration to the Utility Network and begin to look at Utility Network Service and Solution providers, we have been fielding a lot of questions regarding how Geonexus fits into the picture. Since Geonexus is known across the industry as a leader for integrating GIS and EAM technologies, we understand the confusion.
So here is what you need to know about Geonexus’ role in the Utility Network Migration Projects:
Geonexus is recognized by Esri with the Utility Network Management Specialty for our “knowledge and expertise in the utilities market and for delivering solutions for ArcGIS Utility Network Management extension.” What does this mean? It means that Geonexus provides a proven solution for the Utility Network. The solution is the Geonexus Integration Platform which provides bi-directional synchronization between the Geometric Network and the Utility Network.
The Geonexus Integration Platform can be used as a data migration tool to populate your new Utility Network model. The platform can also be used to connect to a plethora of other leading enterprise systems, which allows users to replace existing 3rd party integrations to the Geometric Network with a fully supported platform. An additional benefit is the platform also gives users the option to transition incrementally to the Utility Network. Users may begin synchronizing data with the Utility Network while continuing to leverage the Geometric Network until all their workflows are ready to move to the new platform.

Geonexus is not focused on performing full Utility Network upgrade projects, we have several system integration partners who are experts at this. Rather we provide an option for the data migration and integration piece of the project. We partner with leading organizations that take on the full scale of the project and leverage the Geonexus Integration Platform to improve reliability and reduce the risk for the project. We currently have partnerships with Avineon, Critigen, Khatib & Alami, and Power Engineers. A full list of Utility Network Management Specialty holders can be found here.
