Skip founded Geonexus in 2009 after over 25 years of experience in the GIS, Utilities, and Asset Management Industries. Before starting Geonexus, Skip served in leadership roles with Esri and a large system integration firm. He is an expert in planning, designing, and implementing enterprise GIS and specializes in integrating Esri ArcGIS with Enterprise Asset Management systems including IBM Maximo, Oracle WAM, and ABB Enterprise Software; customer information systems; and mobile technology. When Skip isn’t at work, he can usually be found spending time with his family or volunteering for his children’s field hockey, lacrosse, and swim teams.
Lauren provides Geonexus with advisory services in business operations and finance from Michigan CFO Associates. As a member of the Geonexus executive leadership team and advisor to the CEO, Lauren creates and executes our company’s financial strategy and develops process improvement plans to strengthen our balance sheet and enhance cashflow. Lauren started her career in the public accounting sector, servicing publicly traded and privately held businesses. She has over 13 years of experience working as a Controller and CFO in various business sectors, including manufacturing and distribution, financial services, and non-profits. Lauren has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oakland University and a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Walsh College. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner. Outside the office, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, and kids, Alan and Jacqueline. Pilates, yoga, home redesign, and gourmet cooking are her personal hobbies.
Jeremy has over 20 years of experience in application development and software engineering projects. He is involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to end-user training. In addition to software development, he is also responsible for overseeing development strategies for the Geonexus Integration Platform. Before joining Geonexus, Jeremy worked at EMA where he developed an application to link, load, and synchronize data between IBM Maximo and Esri ArcGIS. When he isn’t developing software or fixing bugs, Jeremy enjoys spending time coaching his 3 daughters’ various sports teams.
Umesh is responsible for providing oversight for the customer success organization at Geonexus, which includes software implementations, technical support, and consulting services. Umesh has over 15 years of experience in business analysis, project/program management, and client management with various IT services and consulting organizations. He has successfully led and delivered highly visible initiatives using cross-functional teams and is passionate about planning, creating efficiencies, and solving complex problems. Umesh has a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Michigan. When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, exercising, and cheering for the Wolverines.
Josh brings over 15 years of marketing and sales leadership experience in the Software industry to Geonexus. Before joining Geonexus, Swenson led and managed revenue creation efforts at several early and mid-stage technology startups including Amplifinity, Foresee, and Commerce Guys. Josh is a graduate of Augusta University and holds an MBA from the University of Utah.
Amelia is responsible for managing technical support, plays a key role in executing implementation projects, and assists with software QA and testing. Her favorite thing about working for Geonexus is working directly with customers to solve problems. Although she has a background in GIS, the data integration field provides a unique opportunity for growth and challenge for her. Amelia holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science from Central Michigan University. Outside of work, Amelia enjoys outdoor adventuring and traveling, teaching her cat to do tricks, and utilizing creative outlets including multimedia art, upcycling used goods, cooking, and gardening.
Brooke is responsible for coordinating and completing all software release and testing processes, maintaining documentation, and working on the development of the Geonexus Integration Platform. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s in Marketing and Logistics Management as well as a certificate in Web Development. In her free time, Brooke enjoys traveling, playing guitar, and spending time outside with her pup, Nugget.
Julianna is responsible for managing customer support communications and documentation. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s in environmental studies and Geography with a concentration in GIS. When she isn’t working, Julianna enjoys going for runs and playing with her dog. She also enjoys cooking and trying new recipes.
Shaylene has worked in the geospatial and software space since 2004, with a focus on project and program management. Shaylene’s expertise in asset management and geospatial technology stems from a career in variety of utility organizations including oil & gas, energy, and water. Shaylene began in GIS as a cartographer in the US Army before completing both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in IT-GIS. Outside of work, Shaylene enjoys spending time with her family, focusing on fitness and nutrition, and is always looking for a new adventure.
Katelyn is responsible for assisting with project execution through configuration and implementation of software. Prior to working at Geonexus, Katelyn worked for the Suffolk County Water Authority in New York where she gained experience in GIS and the water utility industry. Katelyn holds a Masters of Science degree in Geography and a GIS certificate from The George Washington University. When she is not at work, she enjoys playing soccer, crafting, and spending time with her husband and pup, Duke.
Jacob is responsible for creating and managing the distribution of content for Geonexus. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Writing and Digital Studies. When he isn’t writing or reading, Jacob enjoys watching basketball, building computers, and trying his best to recreate recipes from his favorite films.
Andrew is responsible for supporting software implementation projects, assisting with customer help desk tickets, and creating product documentation . Andrew’s background is in Utilities and Engineering applications of GIS and he holds a degree in Geography from the University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work Andrew enjoys camping, traveling, caring for his dog, and broadening his understanding of data management.
Xiaoqing has over 10 years of experience developing rich internet and mobile-based applications using Java, Javascript, HTML-5, and CSS. She is proficient in Esri ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, and SDE. She has a proven track record developing applications using the Esri ArcGIS Server Web API’s. At Geonexus, she is the lead developer for GeoWorx® Office and GeoWorx Sketch products. She also works on the Geonexus Integration Platform. Xiaoqing has also developed numerous widgets to extend Maximo Spatial for Geonexus customers. Xiaoqing holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University. Outside of Geonexus, Xiaoqing enjoys her creative side. She studied oil painting for 10 years and likes learning animations and visualizations. She can spend an entire week working on a single character design.
Jennifer is responsible for overseeing the company’s back-office operations including human resources, accounting, and payroll functions. She holds a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Wisconsin. Before working for Geonexus, Jennifer worked as a Project Manager for an environmental consulting firm. When Jennifer is not at work, she is caring for her three children and volunteering with their sports and school-related activities.

Jimmy has over four years of experience working in Java, and Android, C++, and C#, developing both desktop and mobile applications. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science. In his time off, he loves to spend time with family, and enjoys delving into his art projects, doing sketches, and making digital, watercolor, and acrylic paintings.
Katie is responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of integrated marketing campaigns at Geonexus. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a concentration in New Media. She loves coffee, hiking, and traveling to new places in her free time.
Akshata has over five years of experience developing desktop and mobile-based applications using Java, C#, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and Android. She holds a Master of Technology in Computer Science from Nitte University (India) and a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. At Geonexus, she spends most of her time working on the Geonexus Integration Platform. When Akshata is not in the office, she enjoys being creative. She loves to spend time canvas painting, cooking, traveling, and being outdoors.
Connor is a focused Software Maintenance Developer on the maintenance of existing released software products as well as providing level 2 and 3 support to existing customers and the delivery team (customer support and implementers). Connor is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science. In his free time, Conner likes to read, go hiking, and create video games.
Ryan is responsible for building relationships and helping our clients find the right solution for integration. Ryan’s background is in custom software development and legacy software migration. Outside of work, Ryan volunteers his time to the City of Ann Arbor’s Natural Area Preservation group, helping to protect local amphibian populations.
Lindsay is responsible for partnering with customers to ensure that they receive the value they expect from Geonexus and Geonexus solutions. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and also holds a certificate in GIS from Western Michigan University. When she isn’t working, Lindsay can be found spending time with her husband, playing tennis, trying new recipes, traveling, and enjoying the great outdoors.
